About Us
Sam S. Accursio & Sons Farms was started in 1948 by my father — his family moved to Florida City from Boston where he met and married my mother, whose family transplanted from New York. In the beginning he supported his family during the day by driving a cab and he nurtured his passion at night: building a farm. My parents were blessed with five children — the oldest and youngest (me) were boys and in the middle there were three girls. In 1970, the oldest, Jimmy Accursio, was killed in a car accident and our logo “JCA 30” is in memory of him.

Today my father’s 1948 farm has grown into a 2,000 acre project. It is run by me and my two sons, Sam III and Austin. We grow, pack, and sell pickling cucumbers, green beans, yellow squash, zucchini, okra, and sweet corn.
Practices
We have a passion for produce and are committed to sustaining the way of life that comes with and through agriculture while adapting to the concerns of an ever-changing world. Experts predict that the agriculture industry will need to double in size by the year 2050 in order to accommodate expected population growth. Accursio Farms is forward thinking in terms of trying to maintain a sustainable food source. We undergo a rigorous third-party food safety audit every year and we are certified compliant to Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards which encompass not only safe food today but a sustainable industry for the future.

Farming is our privilege and honor. It is a gift from God. We look forward to an opportunity to share the fruits of our labor with you.
